You are invited to attend the 2nd Annual Abbey’s Hope Golf Tournament on Monday, September 14, 2009, benefiting Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation. This year’s event is made possible in part through a generous grant from Walser Foundation.

A lot has happened to be proud of since last year’s Golf Tournament: Abbey’s Hope has completed its first annual “Spring into Summer” pool safety event; we are continuing to raise pool safety awareness both locally and nationally; we’ve established relationships with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the MN Dept. of Health and the American Red Cross on matters related to pool and spa safety; we are raising awareness of the continuing need for organ donors and bone marrow donors with organizations like Donate Life and Be a Hero, Become a Donor; and finally, we have been fortunate to raise additional funding in these tough economic times to carry out the mission of Abbey’s Hope.

Last year’s Golf Tournament was an amazing success, raising over $200,000 for HopeKids. This year, the net proceeds of the Golf Tournament will enable Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation to fulfill our mission of Keeping Kids Safe.

Last year’s event was a look back on Abbey’s life and her story. This year will showcase Abbey’s Hope. We’ll share the joys of our accomplishments, as well as our aspirations and objectives for the future—all in support of our mission to fiercely and passionately safeguard children, both in and out of the pool, against preventable harm. We know you can’t protect children from everything, but we believe that much more can be done to prevent childhood injuries and illnesses through awareness, education, and accountability.
