It has been a busy few days for Abbey's Hope. Most of you may have seen the Today show, MSNBC and several affiliate stations carried the story that has become our legacy. If not the story will be posted to our website or http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/31759011#31759011
The story explains the need for Abbey's Hope Charitable Foundation and is a huge part of our mission; officials needing help enforcing the new pool drain laws. Pools that continue to be open that are still not compliant with the new legislation. The Consumer Products Commission is the lead agency responsible for the inspections but they only have 100 inspectors so they need the states to pitch in. My opinion would be they need stronger state legislation to give the power to the state agency's to make pool owners compliant. This will give our foundation a lot to do in the months ahead. Abbey's Hope was to keep kids safe from what happened to her and we will do our best, state by state.
The most exciting news of the week is we received our 501c3 determination letter back from the IRS. It is official! Thank you to all our sponsors that believed it would happen and took a chance on us prior to our determination letter. We will do our best to keep your faith in us!
